Skills, expertise and experience

Charles Molapisi is the CEO of MTN South Africa. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of Group Chief Technical and Information Officer.

He is a former Chief Executive Officer of MTN Zambia (2015 to 2018) and the Chief Information Officer for MTN Nigeria (2012 to 2015) and has been with MT since 2009. Charles has previously served on the boards of MTN Zambia (as Executive Director), MTN Business Botswana, MTN Business Kenya and MTN Business Namibia.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master’s in Business Leadership From the University of South Africa. He has also attended executive programs at IMD Business School, Harvard Business School, Columbia Business School and INSEAD.
